passed away peacefully at his home in Charleston on July 31, 2024 after a long and prosperous life of 99 years.
He was a retired plant supervisor for E.I. DuPont Chemical Company for 37 years and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Rudy served many duties for the Town of Belle including Mayor for many years. He served in the State of West Virginia House of Delegates, served as the Majority Whip and was on various committees for the legislature, then continued to serve the State as a lobbyist for several groups. Rudy was a member of Chelyan Masonic Lodge 158 AF & AM, Beni Keden Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies and the former Belle Lions Club.
Rudy was born June 26, 1925 in Whittaker, West Virginia and was the son of the late Henry Arthur and Lula Branham Seacrist. In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruthella 'Ruth' Seacrist and seven brothers, three sisters, a niece and nephew.
Surviving are his loving friends, 'now family', Traci, Ronnie and Haley Jones; nieces, Cindy Seacrist of St. Albans, Virginia of Arizona and a nephew, Jim of Arizona.
His friends and family would like to extend a special thanks to his loving caregivers, HospiceCare of Charleston and his very special neighbors, Linda Barker and Dorothy Haddy for all the love and support they have shown the past few years.
Rudy requested no services and to be laid to rest by the side of his beloved wife, Ruth in Cunningham Memorial Park Mausoleum, St. Albans.
