On February 14, 2022 Carl James Landell (known by all as Jim) 88 of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was formerly a resident of Connecticut for 82 years. Jim was a devoted husband, dedicated father and grandfather.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Margaret King Landell, lovingly remembered by his sister Patricia McKeon, sons David Landell, Steven Landell and his wife Marta, granddaughters Krista Manganiello, Lauren Hendricks and her husband Keith, grandsons Steven Landell Jr. and Nicholas Landell and great grandson Mason Manganiello. Jim was predeceased by two infant children, Daniel and Karen, his parents Gunnar and Florence (Delaney) Landell and his daughter in law Donna Landell.
Jim was born in Middletown, Connecticut on August 1, 1933. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and served in the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He worked for many years as a crane operator and was a retired member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478. Jim was a former member of the Cromwell Lion's Club where he spent many years volunteering in the community. He was also a member of the Elks Club of Middletown, Connecticut. Jim enjoyed spending time at his grandchildren's sporting events and was well loved by his extended family and friends.
