Carl Eugene Elam 89, passed away May 8, 2022. He was born February 2, 1933 in Heth, Arkansas to Elva Taylor Watson and Clyde Elam.
Carl graduated from Memphis Technical High School, class of 1953 where he played football, basketball and was a member of the swimming and track teams.
He was a retired construction superintendent, member of Holy Communion Episcopal Church, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Al Chymia Shrine Temple.
Carl was a member of TSSAA officiating high school football and basketball, Arkansas Association officiating high school football, Missouri Valley Conference officiating college football and basketball.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers John Robert Elam and James Edward Elam.
Carl leaves his wife of 69 years, Carrie Eoff Elam, Son: John Elam (Terry) Palm Bay, FL, Daughters: Carla Estabrook (Les) Marion, AR, Juliana Hurdle (John) Memphis, TN. Grandchildren: Jennifer O'Neill (John) Indialantic, FL, Katie Elam-Fitzgerald (Michael) Palm Bay, FL, Lauren Moreth (Jason) Palm Bay, FL, Justin Estabrook, Marion, AR, Tucker Hurdle, Henry Hurdle and Grady Hurdle, Memphis, TN. Great-Grandchildren: Aidan, Chloe and Jakob O'Neill, Indialantic, FL, Amelia Moreth, Sophia Elam, Noah and Courtney Fitzgerald, Palm Bay, FL.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM, service 11:00 AM at High Point Funeral Home on Saturday May 14. Burial in Tyro Cemetery, Tyro, MS.
