Carl Edmund Banzhoff , 93 Sep 9, 1926 - Oct 14, 2019 Williamsport, MD - Carl Edmund Banzhoff, 93, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at his home.
He was born on September 9. 1926 in Williamsport, MD to the late Keller G. Banzhoff and Frances Geneva McCauley Banzhoff Barnhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Elizabeth Lyday Banzhoff on May 26, 2019.
Carl was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.
He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He owned and operated Carl's Barber Shop in Williamsport, MD for 49 years until retiring in 2000.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church Hagerstown, MD.
Carl was a member of IORM Conococheague Tribe #84 of Williamsport, MD; Potomac Post #202 American Legion Williamsport, MD; HDH Hunting Club of Hancock, MD.
He is survived by his daughter Carla E. Freeman and her husband Jeffrey of Hagerstown, MD; son John B. Banzhoff and his wife Brenda of Williamsport, MD; sister Ruth Knepper of Hagerstown, MD; brother Robert Barnhart of Silver Spring, MD; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great granddaughters.
He was predeceased by a great granddaughter Josette Freeman; two sisters Betty L. Slick and Emma Mae Dowler; four brothers Keller E. Banzhoff, Donald Banzhoff, Ronald Barnhart, and Russell Barnhart.
There will be no viewing.
A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery Hagerstown, MD on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Elizabeth Jackson officiating. Military graveside services will be provided by Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion Hagerstown, MD.
