Cameron Burns, age 82, of Brandon, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Cameron was born March 3, 1940 in Waterdown, Ontario, Canada to the late Gerald and Norah Burns. Cam attended University of Toronto and later studied veterinary medicine at Tuskegee University in Alabama. He enjoyed working with large animals, especially dairy cows. Cam worked at Tampa Independent Dairy Coop from 1976 to 2002, he then went to work during his retirement at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home from 2002 to 2019. Cam met the love of his life, Carol Ann Burns in High School in Waterdown, Ontario. They married in July of 1964. Cam and Carol immigrated in 1971 to Tuskegee, Alabama and stayed there until 1976 when they relocated to Brandon, Florida and remained there until this day. Cam was an active member of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church in Valrico, where he was active in Cursillo, Kairos Prison Ministry, leader of the youth group, member of the choir for 35 years and worked with the senior citizens group called The Folks. Cam leaves behind his wife, Carol Burns; sister, Dene Mainguy; nephew, Edmond James Mainguy; and numerous family and friends. A gathering of family & friends for Cameron will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, 604 N Valrico Rd, Valrico, FL 33594, followed by a celebration of life from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
