Calvin David Patrick Jr. was called home to the Lord on Monday, November 8th, 2021. He died in Houston Texas from complications of congestive heart failure. I know my parents were waiting at the Gates of Heaven with open arms. I can hear my mother's voice, "Welcome home son, it is so wonderful to see you" with tears of joy as he is reunited with his family. We will miss him here on earth, but know we will see each other again.
Calvin was born in McLennan County on March 7, 1959 and was reared in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church where he served as an alter boy throughout junior high and high school. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed summer camps at Camp Karankawa. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Calvin loved his family and always remembered everyone's birthday. Even if he was sick, he would ask how you were doing. He would even ask you about your dogs. He was the kind of man that if he had ten dollars, he would gladly give you five dollars. Calvin could make you laugh when you wanted to cry. He never ended a phone call without saying, "You know I love you." Calvin loved going to the movies; the movie Billie Jack was one of his favorites. He probably saw every John Wayne movie a hundred times.
Calvin sold Real Estate while in his twenties; he could sell anything because he had the gift of gab. He never met of stranger. Calvin also worked in the electrical field until the time of his death. He was a hard worker and enjoyed the simple things in life. He once said, "I would rather spend a day in the Hill Country with the family than a week in Hawaii with a stranger."
He is survived by his three siblings Charles Patrick, Roland Patrick, and Robin Patrick Cox; his nephew Joseph Reagan Gore; and the man he loved like a son and brought him so much happiness Placido Hernandez. He is proceeded in death by his beloved parents Calvin Patrick and Rosalie Whitlock Patrick; his Grandparents Pauline Schellhase Tyler and Charles Tyler; and numerous cousins and aunts and uncles.
