97 of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2021. Calvin was born into a loving family of 11 brothers and sisters in Brooklyn, NY. He joined the Army in 1943 and bravely served his country during WWII. After receiving 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star, he returned to Brooklyn where he met the love of his life, Mary Cassarino. Early in their 67 year marriage, they moved their three children. Eddie, Regina (Hodge), and Ronnie to beautiful St. Pete Beach. Here, Cal worked at the main post office, served his church St. John's as a lector, and was a faithful 20 year volunteer at Day Star. Calvin and Mary entertained countless family members and friends in their home where there was never a lack of food, fun, laughter and music. Calvin is survived by his wife, Mary, sons Eddie (Kim), and Ronnie, daughter Regina (Gary), grandchildren, Nicholas, (Leslie), Joel, Melissa and Tori, and great grandchildren, Jacoby and Cayden. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 11th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church from 10 - 11AM with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
