Calli Hope Lynch, 28, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Ms. Lynch was born in Rock Hill, SC, to Dan Milton Lynch and Becky Tarwater Lynch.
She found her love of Christ at an early age at Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC, and remained a member of its family. She had a beautiful smile and lovely voice. She used her God-given passions and talents to perform in numerous musicals and plays, singing and acting her entire life - from childhood through post-college. She had a strong love for animals (especially her "furbaby cats" Hercules and Xena) and a huge, caring heart for loved ones, even those she did not know.
In 2010, she graduated from Flower Mound HS (TX) where she was a leader in not only singing and theatre groups, but also cheerleading. During her time as a student at Texas Tech University, she further excelled and inspired through her vocal and acting performances, even leading praise music on Sunday mornings at a local church. She also was an involved sister of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
After graduating college, Calli moved to Chicago, IL, to pursue her passions of singing and acting. There, she met the love of her life, Danny Ortegon, after meeting at work. They shared their love and lives together for over three years.
Anyone who knew Calli cannot put into words the grief and sorrow of their enormous loss. She was destined for so much happiness and greatness, but our Father God had a better plan for her yet. "Because I knew you, I have been changed for good." (The musical Wicked.)
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her long-time companion, Daniel "Danny" Ortegon; her two sisters, Tessa Nguyen, and husband Jason, and Kristi Lynch; a nephew, Lucas Nguyen; a niece, Emma Nguyen; two aunts, Gail Jones and Diane Allen and husband, Joe; and four cousins: Matt Jones and wife, Jennifer, Megan Ross and husband, Jason, Claire Allen and Walt Allen and wife, Ally.
Graveside services will be held 11am Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC, officiated by Reverend Sheldon Timmerman from her childhood church.
