Burton Adams Babb, 88, passed away June 8, 2019. He was born in Saugus, MA on December 27, 1930 to Maynard and Elizabeth Babb. Burton attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an undergraduate. Burton served in the Korean War from 1953 - 55 as a supply clerk in the Army. After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Eleanor Budzinski Babb on May 1, 1954, he completed his BA in Physics at the University of Connecticut. Burton also received a Masters in Physics from Lehigh University in 1959. While employed at Bell Laboratories he graduated from Bell Laboratories Branch Laboratories Educational Program in 1962. He came to Dallas to work for Varo Engineering. At Varo, he developed night vision goggles for the military. After leaving Varo he decided to work for himself as an inventor, he has numerous patents. He founded Babb Speaker Company and produced high-end speakers for the automobile, marine and home markets. Those left to cherish his memory include his 7 children - Jeffery Babb, William Babb, Mary (h. William) Barnard, Michael (w. Marci) Babb, Thomas (w. Deborah) Babb, Brian (w. Laura) Babb and Alan (w. Vickie) Babb; sister Elaine Chastain, 92, of Waco, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Eleanor passed away October 16, 2011 and has been waiting for Burton to join her. Services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, July 13 at 11am.
