Buddie Brown Mongold, born on September 28, 1940, in Mathias, West Virginia, passed away on February 4, 2025. A man of remarkable character and dedication, Buddie served four years as a corporal in the United States Army, during which he was stationed in Germany. This experience not only shaped his life but also instilled in him a profound sense of responsibility and service to others.
Following his military career, Buddie dedicated over 30 years to Pilgrim's Pride, where he made enduring contributions that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Buddie was a man who cherished the great outdoors; he was an avid hunter and found immense joy in spending time on the mountain, farming, and raising poultry. Life in the cabin brought him particular happiness, allowing him to connect with nature and create lasting memories. His enthusiasm for these pursuits was infectious, prompting many family outings that brought loved ones together.
His beloved wife of 58 years, Jean H. Mongold; daughters, Teresa (Dean) Dove, Brenda (Kevin) Dove, and Gloria (Eric) Hansen. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Dove, Megan Dove, Andrew (Shanna) Dove, William Sims, and Emily Sims, as well as great-grandchildren Sam Dove, Sandie Dove, Pierce Dove, Bentley Taylor, Isaiah Dove, and Malachi Dove; brothers, Ivan (Rachel) Whetzel and Owen (Angie) Whetzel,
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lethia Whetzel, and his brother, Darlan (Sylvia) Mongold.
A Graveside Service will be held at Mongold Family Cemetery in Mathias WV at a later date.
