It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Bryan Edward Smalley.
Bryan passed away on April 14th, 2022, just 45 days after being diagnosed with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer.
Bryan was born on March 19, 1958 to Lance and Rosemarie (Hinzo) Smalley. He spent most of his childhood in National City, California and Spring Valley, California. Later in his teen years he lived in Croften, MD and Santee, CA. He attended Santana High School. In 1978 Bryan came to Ventura County.
Bryan's trade was in the welding Industry. He managed two welding and gas supply companies in Port Hueneme and Oxnard for over 35 years. His passion was his Harley. He was happiest on the open road with the wind in his face. He loved the beach, camping and spending time with his family. Bryan was a friend of Bill W. for over 34 years.
Waiting for Bryan in Heaven, on her birthday, was his favorite person, his Nana Juliet Lemelle, also his grandmother Elsie Coomer. His Father Lance Smalley and his uncle Ricky Hinzo. Sadly only 23 days after Bryan's passing his Mother Rosemarie Cohenour joined him in Heaven.
Bryan's memory will live on in the hearts of his wife Tina, who he married twice. They spent a total of 27 years together. His siblings Julie (Em) Kahler, Sam (Carrie) Smalley, Christine (David) Pruden and Barry Ohm. Sister in laws Nancy (Frank) Sigala and Becki Allsenberrie, His Children: Christine (Mitch) Schilling, Steve (Sofia) Gangl, Linzi Bravo, Beau (Tanaj) Basolo and James Bryan Smalley. His Grandchildren: Peter, Adan, Mia, Diego, Brooks, Jackson, Alice, Nora, Austin and Oliver. His Uncles Moze Smalley and Charles (Carol) Smalley, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on August 13th, 2022 at 1:00pm with a reception and celebration to follow at Ventura Moose Lodge, 10269 Telegraph Road, Ventura, California.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Kwon and his team at USC Keck Medical for their excellent and compassionate care for Bryan. Also, to Dr. Cox at VCMC, the nurses (3rd floor, ICU #1, Med. Surge end of life care.) The palliative care team, Dr. Wright and Lesley. Rev. Carol, Kevin and all who cared for Bryan at VCMC. The love, care and compassion they gave to Bryan and our family in his final days will forever be appreciated and remembered. And to Dr. Mike Tushla and staff, thank you for being there for us.
Bryan will live on in the hearts of many.
