Bruce M. Stuart, 82, of Columbus, passed away at home on Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born November 12, 1942 in Melrose, MA to James and Muriel (Sanborn) Stuart.
Bruce was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1961-1982. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant and loved the time he spent in Japan. He was employed by Columbus Regional Hospital for several years as a Clinical Engineering Manager. He was also a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church where frequently volunteered for different events.
Bruce had a love of working with his hands. This included woodworking, remodeling, and gardening. He also had a love for classical music, animals, football, and working outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Stuart and James Stuart, Jr.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Marilyn Stuart; children, Jonathan (Nancy) Stuart of Little Rock, AR, Melinda Bolduc of Columbus, Anastina (Jim) Drouin of Conway, NH, Sam Stark of Columbus, and Erica (Mack) Perry of Columbus; sister, Gae Phaneuf of Colorado; sister-in-law, Sandra Stuart; grandchildren, Britt Forbes, Zackery Bolduc, Cain and Kyle Drouin, David Stuart, Alec Stark, Benjamin Stuart, Ethan Wilkerson, and Lillian and Emma Walters; and a great-grandson, Michael Drouin.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9 a.m. until service time.
Memorials in Bruce's name are suggested to the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum or the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
