Bruce Lee "Butch" McCord, Jr., 75, of Port Neches, died Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Christus Southeast Texas - St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born May 24, 1946, in Port Arthur, to Dovie McKinney McCord and Bruce Lee McCord, Sr.
Butch was a proud United States Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1964. Butch helped design many homes in Port Neches and the surrounding area and he carved the original totem pole for the PNG Indians.
Butch loved his Harley and eating crawfish. He was known to tell the same stories over and over again. He was the type of man that never met a stranger, and you always knew where you stood with him. Above all else, his family was the most important thing to him.
When the family was asked for a quote or a phrase that Butch might be known for, they simply laughed and said, "well, we can't give you one appropriate enough that wouldn't make every reader blush."
Survivors include his wife, Laurie McCord, of Port Neches; children, Alison Ousterhout and husband, Britt, of Cedar Park; Kevin McCord and wife, Stephanie, of Austin; and Tyler McCord and wife, Monica, of Opelika, Alabama; stepchildren, Daniel Lindow and wife, Amanda, of Vidor and Brittney Steinkamp and husband, Cody, of Milford, Iowa; ten grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Wiggins and husband, Claude, of Nederland and Janell Loveday and husband, Bill, of Katy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
