Bruce W. Lenz, age 67 of Fairwater, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Bruce was born on September 10, 1953 in Beaver Dam, the son of Winton E. and Cirena "June" (Kottke) Lenz. He was united in marriage to Cindy Klapper on June 19, 1976 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater, where he was a lifelong member and also served on the church council. Bruce was a "Jack-of-all-Trades" who had a great mechanical ability and could fix most anything. He worked as the service manager at Laper's Garage in Fairwater and also served on the Fairwater Village Board. He volunteered as a firefighter in Fairwater for over 30 years, many as Assistant Chief.
Bruce was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed going to car shows and driving school bus. His hobbies also included building model cars and trucks, hunting and ice fishing, and he treasured spending time with his grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Cindy Lenz of Fairwater; sons, Clint (Kimberlee) Lenz of Fall River and Wade (Kelsey) Lenz of Markesan; grandchildren, Haley, Dylan, Emylee, Julia, Addison, Wyatt, Cullen; mother, Cirena "June" of Fairwater; sister, Marsha (Robin Kim) Lenz of IL; brother, Jerry (special friend, Ann Dehn) Lenz of Marquette; mother-in-law, Jan Klawitter of Markesan; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Diane (Al) Cluppert, Terry (Pam) Klapper, Sue Boelter, Rick (Deborah) Klapper, Jim (Jenny) Klapper, Michelle Klapper, Tonya (Tyler) Dibelius; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Winton; father-in-law, Clarence Klapper; brother-in-law, Matt Boelter; sister-in-law, Tammy Klawitter and other relatives.
Visitation for Bruce will be held on Wednesday, June 9 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, June 10 at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Fairwater from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Abuya and Rev. Kimberly Stowell officiating.
