Bruce Hartford Jackson was born November 1, 1952 and passed away April 27, 2022 at the age
of 69. He was born to Hensel and Muriel Jackson in Columbia, Louisiana.
Two months after his birth, his family relocated to El Dorado, Arkansas. The family moved to
Alvin, Texas when he was in 3rd grade to help open the Monsanto plant. He then graduated from Alvin High School, class of '71. He married Cyndi Parks, and they welcomed their beloved son, Bruce Jr. (Hart). Bruce graduated from The University of Houston-School of Architecture-in
1975-Magna cum Laude.
His graduation gift to himself was to spend the next 4 and a half months on a road trip
discovering the beauty of the United States. He returned to Houston and began his long career in architecture, leaving little pieces of himself through the buildings he designed. . He never retired and worked 47 years, designing buildings throughout Texas and the southwestern states, creating lasting relationships along the way.
He met and married Ann Molley in 1978. A blessed life was built. They lived in Southside Place
(Houston) for six years before making their way to Round Rock in 1984. They welcomed two
baby girls, Carrie and Courtney into the family and enjoyed many years in Round Rock before
finally accomplishing the dream of moving to the hill country, relocating to the Marble Falls area in 1996. Peyton completed the core group in 2008.
During his time in Marble Falls, Bruce served many roles. Once he stopped commuting into
Austin every day, he was able to become very active within the community. He served on
numerous boards. Bruce was president of Marble Falls Rotary 2017-2018, POA president, St.
Peter's Lutheran Church Council President, and recently joined the board for Sleep in Heavenly
Peace, which works with the Marble Falls High School to build beds for children in need within
the community. His greatest roles were being a strong Christian, loving husband, dad, and
grandfather (Poppy). His greatest joy was his family and being outdoors with them. He loved
supporting his kids and grandkids' talents in whatever endeavors they pursued?soccer, t-ball,
acting, recitals, and the list just goes on and on. He loved being Poppy, and we loved watching
him be Poppy. He loved marking things off his to-do lists, and we would always say, "Dad can
fix ANYTHING!" He was always patient, kind, caring, efficient, and someone you could count
on to do a job right and help with a listening ear and wise guidance. He is so loved. He is so
missed. He will forever be in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Ann Jackson; his daughter Peyton Jackson; his
son Bruce Hartford Jackson, Jr. (Kristi) and their daughter Makenna; his daughter Carrie Frasier (Stan) and their sons Riley and Hayes; his daughter Courtney and her son Jason; and his brother, Travis (Linda); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
