Bruce W. Bailly, 82 of Housatonic died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was born in Great Barrington on March 14, 1939 son of Richard A. and Mary (Olszewski) Bailly. He was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1957. Bruce proudly served his in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Lab Tech at the former Mead Paper Co for forty years, retiring in 2002. Bruce was active in the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and a member of the Murphy Leary American Legion Post and an avid N.Y. Yankee fan. Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara (Koelmel) Bailly of Housatonic whom he married at Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic on September 15, 1962, four sons, Michael Bailly and wife Sue of Loudon, NH, James Bailly of Housatonic, Mark Bailly and wife Carrie of West Melbourne, FL and Daniel Bailly of Housatonic, one daughter, Joan Heysler and husband Todd of Bartlett, NH, one brother, Richard A. Bailly of Maine, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bruce was predeceased by his brother, Philip Bailly. The family would like to thank Miriam and Sharon for their care and encouragement for Bruce.
Funeral services for Bruce W. Bailly will be held on Monday April 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 11:00 AM in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Housatonic. Masks and social distancing protocols are required for the church and cemetery service. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Bruce's memory may be made to either St. Peter's Building Fund or Murphy Leary American Legion Post in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington, MA 01230.
