On July 4, 2021, Brooks Robinson Wright of San Angelo, Texas, having lived a full life, was called home to be with the Lord. She passed peacefully at home in her sleep of natural causes at the age of 87. Brooks loved the Lord, people, and animals and was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. Brooks was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she graduated from Lamar High School. She then attended Southern Methodist University, where she met and married Jesse E. Stanford to whom she was married for 36 years. She later married Frederick J. Wright and was widowed in 2001. Brooks is survived by her four children, Patrick Wade Stanford and his wife Brenda, Michael Jay Stanford and his wife Elizabeth, Wendy Leigh Pierce, and Gary Alan Stanford and his wife Catherine; several grandchildren: Brandy, Virginia, Michael, Adriana, Sydney, Tori, Casey, Kelsie, and Bethany; and many friends, including Mark Hall, whom she loved like a son, as well as her puppy Corkie who now lives with Wendy. A private graveside service for close friends and family will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas, on July 8, 2021.
