After graduating high school Leon attended the Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute & Seminary where he received his Masters Degree of Theology. He served for over 40 years during which time he pastored several churches in Arkansas and Louisiana and instructed at the seminary. God gave him the ability to relate to people of all ages, from kids to senior adults, and he especially had a love for the ministry of teenagers. He would often attend youth camps as a sponsor even when he didn't have youth from his church in attendance. In his mid 60's he "retired" and proudly became a pipe liner. He had a love for hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bro. Leon was an all around "people person" and would often strike up long conversations with strangers. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bro. Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Chris. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bro.
