Bridget Elaine Rodriguez, 50, of Abilene, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father Monday, October 24, 2022. She was born January 7, 1972 in Merkel, Texas to parents Sesario Acu?a and Carlotta Castillo.
Bridget graduated from Merkel High School in 1990 and went to cosmetology school afterwards. She became a licensed cosmetologist which allowed her to work in various salons in Abilene, Texas. She was married to Andrew Rodriguez for 23 years and they had 3 children: Jacob, Zachry and Miranda. She worked for several years as a licensed cosmetologist before switching careers into child care and early childhood education. She always longed to be a teacher and enjoyed serving her community that way.
Bridget loved spending time with her family. She loved every holiday, especially Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine's Day. She enjoyed decorating, cooking and all the festivities during these times. Bridget was a huge fan of the Twilight Series, Hallmark movies and romantic comedies. She loved to go swimming and enjoyed staying active. She was a Varsity Cheerleader at Merkel and did jazz dancing for several years. She loved to eat at Olive Garden and any location that served pizza. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and her cats: Precious and Buddy.
Bridget is survived by sons: Jacob Rodriquez (Ft. Worth, TX) and Zachry Rodriguez (Arlington, TX), daughter: Miranda Rodriguez (Denver, CO), granddaughter Lyza Seballos (Denver, CO), father Sesario Acuna (Abilene, TX), sister Elizabeth Acuna (Abilene, TX), niece Aliyah Acuna (Abilene, TX), and many cousins and other relatives. Bridget is preceded in death by: her mother, Carlotta Castillo and her aunts.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5 to 6 PM; the recitation of the Rosary will be from 6 to 7 PM at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, October 28, 2022 at Our Mother of Mercy in Merkel, Texas, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home.
