Brian Keith "Lowe" Carruth, 51, of Akron, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
Brian was born on May 26, 1969 in Mansfield, Ohio to Isaac Carruth and Catherine Lowe. Brian was a graduate of St. Peter's Catholic School where he was a standout basketball player and selected to play in the Mansfield New Journals annual North-South Allstar game. After high school, Brian attended Edison State Community College and played basketball there. Brian was their starting Point Guard prior to transferring to Akron University. Brian's magnetic personality and love for people made him very successful in his job in customer service at Dial America. Brian always had a smile on his face and never let day to day life pull him down as he was always uplifting and positive in life. A sports fanatic, Brian loved all sports, and was an all around great basketball player. He loved and adored his children, and would never miss a chance to spend time with them. He was an active dad who was at all of their events, a very dedicated family man. Brian was also a loving son who always ensured that his presence and his helping hands were available to assist his mother in whatever she needed done. Brian was a devoted member of Arlington Church of God in Akron.
He leaves behind his mother, Catherine Lowe; his brother, Gerard (Tanesha) Lowe; his daughters, Kareena and Sophina Carruth; his step children, Briacia Idley, Jerrod Jr., and Shyna Riley; his loving former wife and friend, Trina (McInnis) Carruth; his niece, Taliya Lowe; his nephew, TreAnthony Lowe; his granddaughter, Elaina Martin; his aunt, Mary Foster; and a host of other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins in Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, and Florida. He was preceded in death by his father; and maternal grandparents, Leslie (Phennie) Lowe.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road from 4:00-6:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for his children.
