It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Brian Ebin Kicklighter, age 50, of Meriden, CT. He lost his battle with a brief illness and passed away on September 26, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. He was born December 20, 1970 in Rockville, CT. He was the son of Jean and Charles Kicklighter of Fernandina Beach, FL.
Brian lived in Europe for many years as a boy before his family settled in Glastonbury, CT, which is where he graduated from high school. He was a Senior Regional Leader for Primerica and worked for Webers Nursery and DJ Butters Entertainment. He was an entrepreneur who owned many businesses. He was instrumental in organizing regular men's Bible study meetings and was involved with the Band of Brother's Ministry. He attended Vox Church and had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, a daughter, Morgan Kicklighter; and two sons; Lance and Logan Kicklighter. He leaves his sister, Kim Cardwell and her husband Nick Cardwell of Glastonbury, CT; and a brother Kevin Kicklighter and Sarah Harrington of Hyannis, MA. His most recent happiness came to him in the form of his girlfriend and loving partner Laura Urbanetti and her daughter Delaney Ruiz, who brought so much love and peace into his life.
His dearest friends referred to him as 'Kicky' and he was larger than life in stature and in nature. He always had a smile and a story to share. He had a way of immediately befriending anyone he met. He was always optimistic with a fabulous sense of humor. Most importantly, he was a family man who adored his three children and would spend every spare minute with them as he would his friends and family. Brian's huge heart will be deeply missed, and his spirit will remain with us forever.
Brian will be honored at a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Hops On The Hill, 275 Dug Road, South Glastonbury, CT from 4:00-7:00pm. A service will be held at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mercy Hospital in Les Cayes, Haiti. It is a passion of Brian's that he had been working toward. You can donate online at BEMHaiti.org or by check to: Bethesda Evangelical Mission, P.O. Box 6060, Wallingford, CT 06492. All donations are tax deductible. Mercy Hospital will place a plaque in the garden of the hospital that will read, "In loving memory of our beloved Brian Kicklighter who now is in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" or a Church or Mission of your choice.
