Brendan T. McCaffery, 58, of Cheshire passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 29 years to Caitlin Cullinan McCaffery. Brendan was born in Portadown, County Armagh, Ireland on June 18th, 1965, and was the son of the late Francis and Rosena McParland McCaffery. He earned degrees from Liverpool John Moores University and Albertus Magnus College, New Haven. Brendan worked for Camillo's Tuxedo, Circle Media Catholic Publication, and was an Insurance Agent for State Farm Insurance for many years. He was a member of the North Haven Rotary Club, the Irish-American Community Center, East Haven and the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club where he volunteered his time as a youth leader. Proud father of Liam C. McCaffery and Rachel R. McCaffery. Loving brother of Lana, Brian, Eileen, Colin, Rosena, John, Francis, Aaron, Mary-Louise and Carla. Also survived by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts. nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by John Lawless, but also survived by Marie Lawless, who welcomed him into their home when he emigrated to the U.S. in 1988.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday, June 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to Precious Blood Parish/St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford on Wednesday, June 5th at 12:00 PM to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in St. Mary Cemetery, 315 Buckingham Avenue, Milford.
