Brenda J. Vumbaco, 80, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, unexpectedly at home.
Born in Meriden on July 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Vumbaco. She was a lifelong Meriden resident and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and earned her B.A. from Seton Hill College in PA and her M.A. from Trinity College.
Miss Vumbaco was an editor, publisher and educator throughout her life. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Brenda was the director of the Meriden Silver Museum and published a book on the history of Meriden. She is survived by her brother, Wayne Vumbaco and his wife Carol, three nephews and one niece: Nicholas, Alexis, Mark and Robert. She was predeceased by her infant brother, Frank Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, August 5th at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Mt. Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Avenue in Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, is in charge of the arrangements.
