Britt Brooks, 62 of Houston passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021. He was born July 31, 1959, to Joe and Jerolene Brooks in Lubbock. Britt grew up in Tahoka, Texas where he learned to farm, play football and baseball, and develop his life-long friendships. Tahoka was Britt's happy place. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Economics and Minor in Finance from Texas Tech University. He was an entrepreneur at heart with a drive and determination for his professional achievements. Britt started his career in Midland, TX working for Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor and Texas IPO specialist. Britt raised capital for many IPOs and companies throughout his life. He was most proud of founding his own company TexCom, Inc. and bringing it public. Britt was Executive Vice President and oversaw raising capital, Oil and Gas operations, a biodiesel project, and finally focusing on environmental disposal of NORM. For the past 10 years Britt concentrated on environmental remediation. Most recently cofounding Freestone Environmental Solutions, Inc.
Britt married Andrea (Cozad) Brooks October 9, 1999, in Houston. He enjoyed golf, football, music, war history, the stock market, and anything about his girls' activities. Britt's charisma and friendship will be missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Andrea; his children, Haley Brooks of Placentia, California, Lexi and Erin Brooks both of Houston; father, Joe Brooks of Tahoka; , Angela Gau and husband Tim of Littlefield; nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Jerolene Brooks on June 25, 2021; sister, Sherri McCord in 2013.
Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Tahoka. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at The First Baptist Church in Tahoka with burial to follow at Nevels Memorial Park Cemetery.
