Bonny Katharina Shott, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 99. Bonny was born in Mannheim, Germany on August 12, 1924, to Emil and Hede Frenger.
In 1945, she came to the United States, and became a proud American citizen. Having lived much of her childhood and teenage years in Nazi-controlled Germany, she became a life-long advocate of democracy, and she never missed an opportunity to participate in an election in this country. She was an avid reader of the news until the end of her life, as she dearly appreciated the many freedoms that the United States provided her.
Bonny is survived by her daughters, Cyndy Shott and Karen Stroman; son-in-law, Tim Stroman; granddaughter, Ashleigh Douglas; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her four-legged grandbabies, Dumpling, DD, Freddie, and Matilda. Bonny was a devoted animal lover who rescued and cared for many animals throughout her lifetime, and she passed on this passion to her daughters and granddaughter.
If you should choose to honor her memory, please consider donating to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center or any other animal organization of your choice.
