Bonnie Kay Ziegler, 72, passed away Wednesday evening December 7, 2022.
Bonnie, daughter of Ben E. Meyer and Irene (Rehfeld) Meyer, was born April 25, 1950 in Britton, SD. She grew up in Hecla, SD, graduating from Hecla High School in 1968. She attended the Aberdeen School of Commerce in Aberdeen, SD receiving an Associate Degree and began employment with Dickey County Social Services. After thirty-nine years, she retired in 2008 due to health reasons. She was known for going the extra mile for the individuals and families she assisted.
Bonnie married Harold Ziegler on May 22, 1981 in Hecla, SD. This union was blessed by having two very special Godchildren, Cheri and Kim. She was a true inspiration in their lives and demonstrated her unconditional love by attending multiple activities throughout the years and always being there with listening ears and comforting words of advice.
Bonnie loved to plant flowers, read, crochet, play games, golf, and bowl. Bonnie was a top notch bowler and competed in a TV bowling show three times and never defeated. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, finding joy and humor in daily life.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Harold; special Godchildren Cheri (Rob) Palmer, Mandan, ND; Kim Gulsvig, Bismarck, ND; and precious God Grandchildren Brenden and Jenna Palmer, Mandan, ND. She is also survived by her brother Gaylen Meyer, Hecla, SD; and sisters Renee (Doug) Frohling and Judy (Daryl) Lloyd, all of Hecla, SD. Special friends Lynn and Carol Gulsvig, Oakes, ND. In-laws Duane (Sandy) Ziegler, Bismarck, ND; Kathy Ziegler, Powell, Ohio; Jerry (Vicki) Ziegler, Minneapolis, MN; Richard (Diane) Ziegler, Mandan, ND; and Dennis (RonAnne) Ziegler, Billings, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews that she cared for deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Jake and Viola Ziegler, and brother-in-law Jim Ziegler.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
Family prefers any memorials be sent directly to CHI Health at Home- Hospice at 367 2nd St. NW Valley City, ND 58072 which will be directed to the Hospice services in Oakes in lieu of flowers.
