Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8) Bonnie Estelle Guins, 69, a resident of Zachary, LA died on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. She was born on May 2, 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and resided in Louisiana for most of her life. She was a former employee of Baton Rouge City Parish, Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, and numerous sales companies. She also worked as a Court Reporter and as a Private Detective for a local insurance company. Bonnie attended Zachary High School and graduated from Central Private School where she was on the Dance Team and was a cheerleader. She attended LSU and later graduated from Court Reporting School. She is survived by 2 brothers, Ronnie Guins and wife Brenda of Madison County, MS, and Alan Guins of Copiah County, MS, nephew Shawn Guins and wife Amie, great nieces and nephews, Carter, Ceaton, Logan and Dianna Claire, and her faithful fur baby, Tucker. She is also survived by many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents George Price Guins and Dorothy Dixon Guins, niece Angela Guins and nephew Alan P. Guins, Jr. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Zachary, LA. Bonnie had a larger-than- life personality. She loved completely and with her whole heart. If you became her friend, you were a friend for life. She never forgot a face, a name or a birthday. Bonnie loved to be surrounded by family and friends and there was always lots of laughter . She was talented musically on the piano and guitar and loved being on the water with a fishing rod in her hand. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 12 noon until funeral services at 2 pm conducted by Dr. Les Colvin. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Zachary.
