Bobby Kenneth Walker was born June 30, 1935 in Rising Star, TX to Curtis and Lula Walker and was the oldest of four children. He grew up in Silver, TX and graduated from Robert Lee High School in 1954. He married the love of his life, Vada Joyce King on September 15th, 1956 at her family home in Edith. He served in the Army during the Korean War and while stationed in Hawaii, he was awarded the Army Commendation Ribbon with Medal Pendant and the Hawaiian Red Cross Citation of Honor for rescuing a family whose fishing boat capsized.
After leaving the military he moved his family to Odessa to work in the oilfield. He worked on the production side and retired in 1994 as a Drilling Foreman with Amoco Production Company after 31 years with the company.
Upon retirement he spent part of his time in Odessa and part time in Robert Lee. He was an active member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Odessa until retirement then transferred his membership to the Pecan Baptist Church in the Edith Community where he remained very active.
He loved his little slice of heaven in the country at Edith which he always considered to be his true home. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching the wildlife, and visiting with family and friends. A true man of his word, he led by example through his work ethic and character. He exemplified a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his Lord and family. He was a true role model for many generations of family and friends.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lula Walker, and sister Wanda Caulder.
