Bobby Lee Simpson, 88, husband of the late Pearl Foster Simpson, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born on September 15, 1933 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late William Thomas and Ninnie May Dodson Simpson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Nacco-Hyster Manufacturing where he worked from 1974-1998. He also worked at Purkey's Market for many years. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby R. Simpson (Pam) of Richmond, KY and Tim Simpson (Tammy) of Richmond, KY; four grandchildren, Lesley Ratliff (David), Tara Mason (Matthew), Ethan Simpson (Ashley) and David Simpson (Heather); great grandchildren, Austin Ratliff, Colton Simpson, Pierce Mason, Maddox Simpson, Simone Mason, Micah Simpson, Elliot Simpson and Noah Simpson; Other than his wife Pearl Foster Simpson he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Rudolph Simpson and Odell Simpson; one sister, Jewel Doris Dearman and numerous half siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Danny Davis officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Simpson, David Simpson, David Ratliff, Matthew Mason, Rick Simpson and Matt Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will Austin Ratliff, Dave Bennett, Cline Mullins, Shirley Combs, Teresa Carpenter, Roger Thomas and fellow employees at Nacco.
