Bobby Gene Register, age 78, of Dothan, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his residence.
Pastor Bobby Gene Register was married to Margie Lou Barbara (Finch) Register at the age of 23, in the year of 1962.
He received the call to preach at the age of 16 and has pastored many churches in the wiregrass area for over 60 years. Together they raised four children, three boys, Bryant, Byron, Bruce, and one daughter, Belinda. He was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, General Stonewall Register and Evie Bell Register, three brothers, and two sisters, and one grandson, Timothy Sowell.
Survivors include his wife Margie Lou Barbara, daughter, Belinda Register Sowell (Larry) of Headland, sons, Bryant Register ( Cheryl) of Ozark, Byron Register (Christy) of Slocomb, and Bruce Register of Abbeville, grandchildren, Colby, Ethan, and Kelsey Register, Seth and Wesley Sowell, Dawn Clements and Kerstin Register, Kayla Brown and Jamie and Noah Register, great-grandchildren, Annie, Katie Beth, and Andy Clements, and Aubrie Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10AM from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Sowell, Pastor Bobby Ned Peters, and Pastor Daniel Clements officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 5- 7 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Antioch Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing on Hwy 103 (right outside the city limits of Fadette).
