Bobby Don Lowry, age 68, passed away Saturday, December 5th, 2020, in Amarillo, Texas. Don was born October 23, 1952, to John and Ruth Lowry. He was a proud graduate of Odessa High School, class of '72. Don met and married Sandra K. McCall in 1971 and from this union had 3 children, 2 daughters and a son. He remarried in 1985 to Vicki Elizondo gaining a daughter from a previous marriage before completing his family with the birth of his last child, a son. Don was a plant operator in Odessa for over 37 years. He had a knack for making great friends and enjoyed life to his fullest. Dr. Pepper was a passion that he shared with everyone. From drinking DP to collecting memorabilia, Don was sure to tell you all the benefits of his favorite drink. Don had longed to move out of Odessa, but his big move was only 20 miles away to Midland. He dreamed of moving to his favorite place on earth, the Rio Frio. Don never made it, but in spirit, I am sure he is floating "Bertha", his special inner tube down the river. Papa D, as many would call him in his later years, always had an easy smile, playfully wrestled with kids and loved to work on his yard. Walking was another hobby he enjoyed. Each day setting out with Coon, his dog, he would walk for hours and find things he would bring home to set on his shelf...coins, washers and little trinkets, he thought we could giggle over. Don is survived by his wife, Vicki. His son, Andy Lowry and his wife, Brenda. Daughter, Teri Forister and her husband, Chris. Daughter, Megan Perkins and her husband, Will. Son, Mike Lowry and his wife, Arielle. Daughter, Kaysie McKelvain. 8 grandson, Dylan, Bobby Kayd, Jordan, Brayden, Grayson, Noah, Wyatt and Mason. 1 granddaughter, Rylee and 1 great-granddaughter, Layla. His only brother, Ed Lowry. And lastly, Coon, his beloved pet. As per his wishes, there will not be a service.
