Bobby Carryl Jones Sr. , 83 May 16, 1938 - Oct 4, 2021 Bobby Carryl Jones Sr., 83, of Waynesboro, PA, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born May 16, 1938, in Arkadelphia, AR, he was the son of the late Lee Roy Jones and Emma Ruby (Ogle) Jones .
Bobby was a 1955 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating high school and served more than 21 years. While in the Navy, he obtained many degrees. Bobby was a hard hat and scuba diver, part of the EOD team, and an electrician for the Navy. After retiring from the service, he worked at Fairchild in Hagerstown, Letterkenny Army Depot, and Fort Detrick, where he officially retired.
Bobby and his wife have lived on a farm for many years, where they raised a large family. His favorite pastime was fishing, which he enjoyed with his wife and grandchildren. Most of all, Bobby loved spending time with his family, whether it was at gatherings on the farm or traveling to new places.One of Bobby's greatest joys was helping others. He would do anything he could to offer a helping hand.
Bobby attended Macedonia United Brethren Church in Greencastle, PA.
He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 52 years, Saundra J. (Souders) Jones; 7 children, Tammy Wildeson (Patrick), Wayne Carryl Jones (Wendi), Jacinda Jones (David), David Lee Jones (Karla), Bobby Jones (Jennifer), Paul Jones (Vickie), and Roy Jones (Delight); 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Jones, and two sisters, Dorothy Hudman and Elizabeth Pike.
Services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD with Pastor Brian Black officiating. Interment will follow at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. They strongly encourage everyone attending to please wear a facial covering.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Road, Greencastle, PA 17225..
