Bobby Wayne Conner, 69, of Lubbock passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. He was born August 25, 1951, in Haskell, Tx to Eugene Lee and Frances Mozelle (Hamilton) Conner of Rule, Tx. Bobby grew up in Midland and graduated from Midland High School in 1969. He graduated from Odessa College in 1973 with his associates degree. Bobby married Patty Woodruff on August 2, 1974, in Midland. He went to work for W & W Steel in 1987 continuing there until he retired as the Vice President of Drafting in 2018. Bobby was an avid Texas Tech fan. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for several years. Bobby was saved in the summer of 1970. He was baptized by Cecil Maxey at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Patty Conner; sons, Matt Conner of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Bryan Conner of Lubbock; daughter-in-law, Anna Sulsters of Sydney, Australia; brother, Tommy Conner of Midland; sisters, Frances Davis of Lubbock, Mary Nell Vickers, and Nancy Jezek (David), all of Midland; grandson, August E. Conner, of Sydney, Australia; nieces, Amy Davis, Lindsey Hill, Keelee Robertson, and Amanda Morren; nephews, Jim Ed Davis, Chris Vickers, Tyler Jezek, Chris Woodruff, Jeff Woodruff, and Payne Conner; mother-in-law, Lorene Woodruff; father-in-law, J.B. Woodruff; sister-in-law's, Terrie Rhodes (Larry) and Bonnie Robertson (Lagene); and brother-in-law, Tom Woodruff (Nancy).
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Billie Bob Robertson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, Lubbock, Tx 79401.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th St., Lubbock, Tx 79411.
