Graveside services for Bobby James Chandler, Sr., 85, of Diboll, will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery in Diboll with Bro. Travis Lawrence officiating.
Mr. Chandler was born on May 15, 1939, in Shelby County, Texas, to the late Hollis Raymond Chandler and Inis Martha (Battles) Chandler, and died October 6, 2024, in Lufkin.
Mr. Chandler was a lifetime member of Burke Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was the president of a local union for the Paper Mill in Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Chandler was a realtor and real estate inspector. He loved to hunt, ride horses, show coon dogs, and work on his farm. Above all, he loved his family and especially loved all of his grandbabies.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Sidney Murray; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Rickey Stubblefield; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Chandler, Jr. and Stephanie; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Ashley Chandler; grandchildren, Joshua Stubblefield and wife Maigan, Caleb Murray and wife Zowie, Jacob Stubblefield and fianc? Kaitlynn Matthews, Tyler Chandler, Morgan Callin and husband Peter, Dylan Chandler, Logan Chandler, Gatlin Chandler, and Hampton Chandler; step grandson, Chandler Bourgeois; great-grandchildren, Carson Stubblefield, Henley Murray, Caisey Stubblefield, and Rowan Murray; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Earlene Chandler; sister, Linda Kay Hendry; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Chandler; and daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Earnest Rast.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Stubblefield, Caleb Murray, Jacob Stubblefield, Tyler Chandler, Dylan Chandler, Chandler Bourgeois, Peter Callin, and Eric Chandler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Morgan Callin, Logan Chandler, Gatlin Chandler, and Hampton Chandler.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
