Funeral Services for Bobbie Sue Gaines, 88 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Wednesday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo from complications of Parkinson's, will be held Saturday November 13th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mary Mead Room at the Hansen Teaching Arena at 470 Wy-230 in Laramie with Aaron Frude officiating. Private family interment will be held in Arkansas at a later date. Donations in Bobbie Sue's memory may be made to the Amie Holt Care Center Activities Fund in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Bobbie Sue Gaines was born on January 14, 1933 in Monarch, Arkansas to Zerald and Flora Owen. One of twelve children Bobbie grew up and went to school Yellville, Arkansas and graduated from Yellville High School with the class of 1950. She was married in the Fall of 1950 to John David Gaines and they made their home in Lead Hill, Arkansas. John and Bobbie moved to Laramie, Wyoming 1958. She worked for the Albany County School District twenty years and for the University of Wyoming for ten years. They retired in 1983 and in 2000 they returned to Arkansas. Mr. Gaines passed away in 2004. Bobbie moved to Buffalo in 2017 and in 2018 she became a resident of the Amie Holt Care Center where she lived until her death.
Bobbie was very active in ABWA, TOPS and the VFW Auxiliary. Bobbie never missed a chance to watch her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in activities. Her favorite time was spent with family. She was an accomplished seamstress, making quilts for all her kids, grandkids' even great-grandkids, and lots of friends. Bobbie said to everyone "I'm going on a trip and won't be back, but I will be waiting to see you again on the other side."
She is survived by one son Mark Gaines and his wife Debi of Saratoga, Wyoming; three daughters, Marcia Gaines of Buffalo, Janie Moore and her husband David of Laramie and Marilyn Hoskins of Lander; two brothers Ivan Owen of Kansas City, Kansas and Art Owen also of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Justin and Kirsten Moore, Darcy and Victor Goni, Matt and Kerry Gaines, Jason and Mandi Moore, Kelsey McDonnell, Trent and Brittany Gaines; one granddaughter-in-law Jessica Gaines; 11 great-grandkids, Dallas, Gavin, Keegan, Keesee, Luke, Natalie, Tayton, Talon, Max, Molly and Karter and one great-great-granddaughter Vaeda Rae; two brothers Ivan Owen and his wife Paula and Art Owen; four sisters-in-law Mary Gaines, Doris Owen, Wanda Owen, Pat Owen; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandson Ricky Gaines, great-granddaughter Grace Moore, son-in-law Jack Hoskins, four sisters, five brothers, three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in law.
