Bobby E. Tracy Sr., 88, of Robinson, IL passed away at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren on Thursday November 4, 2021.
He was born in Crawford County, IL near Annapolis on March 21, 1933 to John Russell and Fay (Bennett) Tracy. On June 25, 1955 he married Nancy JoAnn (Carney) Tracy who preceded him in death on August 5, 2013.
Bob enlisted in the United States Army in December 1952. Following his time in the service Bob returned to Crawford County where he married his lifelong sweetheart JoAnn. Throughout the years he worked for J. B. Holt, Metheny Gas Station in Oblong, IL and Staley Gas Station in Casey, IL, the Pottery and was a Union Painter in Robinson, IL when he retired. He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets where he bought many of the antiques he collected. Bob was also known as the "Bike Guy", rebuilding hundreds of bikes over the years.
He is survived by a son Bobby Tracy Jr., Oblong, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law Lori and Doug Slater, Robinson, IL and Lisa and Charles Inboden, Oblong, IL; grandchildren Melissa Tracy, Chrissy and Tim Mickey, Levi and Nicky Slater, Christopher Slater, Jalyne and Derek Tedford, Daylan Inboden and Aleah Inboden; great grandchildren Devin Worcester, Carman Worcester, Cascinda and Wade Copeland, Cierra Staley and Fianc? Nicolai Tracy, Madison Staley, Porter Mickey, Julia Henderson, Reagan and Sadie Slater and Cora Tedford. He is also survived by two sisters and brother-in-law Leah and Earl Baker, Oblong, IL and Reba Stephens, Oblong, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, loving wife of 66 years, infant son Wayne Tracy, two sisters Virginia Earlewine and Donna Miller.
Celebration of Bob's Life was held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday November 7, 2021 at Pulliam Funeral Home Oblong, IL. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2:00 -3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to either Oblong Christmas in the Park or the Oblong American Legion Post # 219 and may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O.
