Blaine Bennett, 73, lifetime resident of Stamford, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 in Abilene. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27 in the Central Presbyterian Church with Reverends Kelly Pigott and David Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home.
He was born December 18, 1950 in Stamford, Texas, to Homer and Marie Jo Elliott Bennett. Blaine graduated from Stamford High School in 1969 and served in the Texas National Guard. He married Paula Wilfong on October 31, 1975 in Haskell, Texas. Blaine farmed and ranched all of his adult life. He raised and raced Quarter Horses and raised Holstein cattle. He loved to golf and he and Paula enjoyed doing many things together such as going to Ruidoso horse races, various casinos, fishing, and traveling. They were members of Central Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon. Blaine was a good man and respected by many. He enjoyed life and his smile and positive attitude made him easy to befriend.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to lovingly cherish his memory are his wife Paula Bennett of Stamford; Mother-in-law LaQuita Wilfong of Haskell; Sister Jo Ann Calk of Anson; Brother-in-law Calvin Wilfong and his wife Alta of Knoxville, TN; Numerous cousins and friends.
