Billy G. Waller, 87, of Dade City, FL passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Zephyrhills under the care of Gulfside Hospice. He was born December 13, 1934, in Cookeville, TN to Joe and Minnie Waller. Taking great pride in public service, Bill retired as a US Naval Officer after 25 years in the military, served during the Viet Nam War, and was known locally as the Commander. Following his retirement, he also served as a consultant to the Royal Saudi Arabian Navy, in order to help build their military as a US ally. Bill was an avid golfer, playing golf at Tennessee Tech on scholarship, and was also known around the area for his prowess on the card table. Bill is survived by 3 children: Chris Waller, Carter Waller, Kit Kirkwood; 4 surviving siblings: Charlie Waller, Ralph Waller, Pete Waller, Peggy Prather; 3 grandchildren: Milana Waller, Billie Kirkwood, AJ Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Waller. Funeral Services will be held 12pm, Friday, June 24, 2022, at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in Bill's memory to Gulfside Hospice (see: www.gulfside.org).
