Billy Ralph Steele

Mr. Billy Ralph Steele, 87, passed away November 28, 2021 at Gordon Hospice House.

Born September 3, 1934 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Claude Lee Steele and Mary Jane Campbell Steele.

Educated in the public schools of Iredell County, he graduated from Unity High School, Statesville. Mr. Steele was last employed with Burlington Industries as a dolpher and he served in the United States Army.

He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Harmony.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Dobbins; brothers, Leon Steele, Henry Steele, Clinnie Steele, and Fred Steele; and sisters, Cordia Steele, Esther Vines, Genevieve Morrison, Lottie Parson, Susan Campbell, and Anndell McKee.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Phyllis Holland of New York, Patricia Ann Dobbins of Statesville, Darrell Lynn Steele (Norma) of Hickory, Billy Ray Dobbins of Statesville, Leslie Eugene Steele of Harmony, Soncera Steele of Statesville, and Tarrell Steele Walker (Bennie Lee) of Winston-Salem; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements: Graveside Service Friday, December 10, 2021, 3pm at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ray Nelson Campbell, Officiating.
