Billy Saxon, 89, of Wallingford, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, with his family by his side. Born in Claxton, GA, on October 8, 1933, he was a son of the late Quinn and Myrtice (Tucker) Saxon. As a young man, Billy enlisted into the United States Army, proudly serving his country for 2 years. He then worked as a tool cutter and tool grinder for Sargent Manufacturing for 20 years. While a talented craftsman, above all, Billy was a family man. His children have always considered him the best father in the world. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as watching the Boston Red Sox, fishing, playing his daily numbers and making french toast for his friends and family. Billy was loved by everyone who knew him, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Roseanna Coderre Saxon; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Bonny Saxon of Randolph, ME, William and Maria Saxon as well as her brother, Jozsef Vitalis of Ellington, CT; and Jeffery and Lisa Saxon of East Hampton, CT; his daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and RJ Cloud of Yalesville, CT; and his brother, Olliff and his wife, Joan of Bunnell, FL. He will also be missed by his five grandchildren, Brooks, Victoria, Cody, Emily, and Zoltan; as well as numerous extended family members and cherished friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd at 2:00 pm at the State Veterans' Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
