On May 5, 2023, Bill Carroll Wylie of Montgomery, TX passed away peacefully at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital.
Bill was born on August 27, 1930 in Pottsville, Arkansas. During the Korean War, Bill enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Cryptography department at the Pentagon. In August 1954, while stationed in Washington DC, he met his future wife, "the Little Filly," Jeanette Busch. They married shortly thereafter in January 1955 and started a family. He then attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and graduated with a degree in Business. He worked for Travelers Insurance until 1987 after which he started his own insurance agency. He and Jeanette traveled the world and in 2010, Bill was baptized in the Jordan River, recommitting his life to Jesus Christ. He was an avid reader of the Bible and loved God, his wife of 68 years, his family, his country, spending his days on the golf course, and being a Texan.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, E.G. and Illa Mae Wylie and his brother, Dean Wylie. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Wylie, his sister, Sandra Camp, and his children; Mike Wylie and his wife Lisa, Kim Hannigan and her husband Dan, Caryl Cherry and her husband David, and Cindy Meyers and her husband Gary. He was proud of his 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and loved them dearly. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends; old and new.
