Bill Ray Ervin was born 03 June, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ray "Junior" Ervin and Ruby "Juanita" Lee.
His siblings are Shirley Cowling, Ted Ervin, Terry Ervin, Wilma Jean Kyle and Brenda Ashton.
The Ervin family moved often to find oil field work, and Bill left high school in his senior year to care for his family after an oilfield accident nearly killed his father and a fire destroyed their home. Bill always considered Browns, Illinois to be his hometown.
In 1963 he met and married Judy Schweitzer, and on February 1, 1964 thier only child, Tina, was born. They divorced in 1976.
In 1986 he married Dahlia Ann Gardner, a loving caretaker.
He passed away on February 23, 1999.
My father was the very definition of a gentleman; well-mannered, kind, generous and loving. Any strength of character in my own nature is due to his example.
