Beverly Wilson, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 in
Flower Mound, Texas. She was 84.
Beverly, born in Gladewater, Texas on November 27, 1936, was known for spreading joy,
kindness, and compassion to those around her. Beverly was strikingly beautiful - both inside and
out, from high school cheerleader to pageant winner. Beverly eventually caught the eye of the
Ennis High School running back. On January 31, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart,
Sam, with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage. Sam passed away just one day after their
anniversary on February 1, 2021.
Throughout the majority of her life, Beverly took so much pride in her role as a homemaker, wife,
and mother. In fact, one of Beverly's greatest passions in life was raising her two children, Sam,
Jr. and Diane. As a mother, she was playful, caring, and loving. She could often be found eating
popcorn for dinner and watching Golden Girls. She had a strong sense of humor and zest for
life.
As a grandmother to four grandchildren, Beverly dedicated much of her time to playing with
Barbies and Hot Wheels. She even preferred to sit at the kids table, just to spend more time
with them. Beverly loved her family more than anything, and would go above and beyond to
provide them with emotional support. She often wrote and sent letters to inspire her
grandchildren as they navigated their own lives.
Beverly was also a religious woman, growing up as a member of Church of Christ and later
attending the Methodist Church. She valued her relationship with God and wholeheartedly
believed in the power of prayer. For this reason, she would never miss watching televised
church on Sunday mornings.
During her later years of life, Beverly and her husband resided at their ranch in Flower Mound,
Texas. While their ranch, Shady Oaks, was one of Sam's greatest prides and joys in life, Beverly
was his greatest love. After Sam's passing in February 2021, her family is grateful to have spent
so much time with her and to have continued to fill their home with love. Beverly passed away
peacefully.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Vergie and Wayne Sibley. She had a special
relationship with her sister, Yvonne Hughes, who she is survived by. Beverly is also survived by
her two children and their spouses, Sam, Jr. and Carol Wilson of Dallas, TX, and Diane
Bradshaw and Rob Womack of Manhattan Beach, CA; and her grandchildren Jennifer, Sam III,
Maddie, and Margot.
A private burial was held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Memorials may be made to Children's
Medical Center Foundation (https://www.childrens.com/get-involved/donate).
