Beverly Jean Smith, 71, passed away on December 30, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 1, 1950 to George Edwin Arnold and Nadine Turner Arnold in Portales, New Mexico. Beverly graduated from Hobbs High School in 1968. She was a member of the National Honor Society, HHS Band, and ran for Miss Hobbs. Beverly later married Junior Easter on October 13, 1968. She lived and worked right along with her husband on the Billy Walker Ranch until his passing. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Higginbotham Bartlett and Haller-Phillips. Beverly was involved in 4H and FFA and saw many miles traveling to stockshows with her children. She loved to read, travel, fish, and her family very much. Beverly was a member of the Indiana Ave Church of Christ. Beverly is survived by daughters Georgianne Easter of Hobbs, NM and Jennifer Slaugh of Wolfforth, TX; One Sister Cheryl Duffey of Hobbs, NM and one Brother Quintin Hicks of New Braunfels, TX. Granddaughters Shyanne Haisten of Las Cruces, NM, Rachel Hammock of Lubbock, TX and Bailey Haisten of Hobbs, NM; Great Grand Sons, Caleb, Blake and Xander Hammock of Lubbock, TX; Her four legged companions Gus and Lilli B and many other family and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers George Edwin Arnold and Johnny Carl Hicks; One sister Gaynell Johnson; Husband Junior Easter and her four legged companions Fritz, Frosty and Frisco.
Visitation is Saturday January 15, 2022 8:30-10 am Central Time in Lubbock, TX at Resthaven's Funeral Home-Abbey Chapel. Funeral is to follow the Visitation on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 10 am Central time also at Resthaven. Interment immediately following the funeral. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Shinery Oaks Nursing Home in Denver City, TX and her sweet roommate Miss Margaret Vuicich who prayed for her everyday. The staff at Interim Hospice, words cannot express the comfort you showed throughout this process. There is a special calling for this type of work and only few are chosen.
