Bev was born on October 4, 1940 to Judd and Ida Langenfeld who made their home in Castlewood, SD. Bev had seven siblings so in total there were four boys and four girls. Bev grew up thoroughly enjoying life. Her totally outgoing personality allowed her to make many friends across the country.
Bev attended elementary and high school in Castlewood. She then attended Stewart's School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated with a 97.5 grade average. She worked in a salon as a hair stylist from 1959 to 1962 and then was hired as a senior instructor at Stewart's School of Hairstyling where she worked until 1967.
On April 16, 1967 Bev married Roger Siefkes and in just a short time they would have been married 55 happy and enjoyable years. Roger's employment involved various relocations and at each new place Bev's bubbly personality helped her make more friends. Bev and Roger had two children, Traci who was born in 1968 and Terri who was born in 1972. Their daughter Terri is married to Paul Schmiesing and they gave Bev and Roger two grandchildren, Berg and Reese. Berg is a student at Boise State University and Reese is a student at Oregon State University. Bev loved them dearly.
Bev worked at a salon and also owned her own salon during the period from 1967 to 1972. In 1972 she was hired as the senior instructor at the Lake Area Vocational Technical Institute in Watertown, S.D. In 1983 she was hired by the Potomac Academy of Hair Design in Falls Church, VA as a senior instructor and vice president. In 1997 Bev was named teacher of the year in the Virginia Association of Private Career Schools.
Bev and Roger both retired on July 31, 1998 and moved to Boise, ID. In retirement Bev delighted in helping others through organizations such as Operation School Bell, King of Glory Lutheran Church and Hope Lutheran Church. Bev loved making goodies and jam to share with friends, especially at Christmas.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Helen Siefkes, daughter Traci, brothers Richard and Jerry, sister Dee Vetter, brothers-in-law Larry Vetter, Jerome Ries, Erv and Allen Siefkes and nephew Josh Langenfeld. She is survived by her husband Roger, daughter Terri and her husband Paul Schmiesing, grandson Berg Schmiesing, granddaughter Reese Schmiesing, brother Larry Langenfeld, sister Gloria Ries, brother Wayne Langenfeld and wife Pam, sister Cindy and her husband David Pommer, sisters in law Karen and Linda Siefkes, many nieces and nephews, and her sweet little dog, Jean-Paul.
A memorial service and reception for Bev will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 331 N. Linder Road, Eagle, Idaho on Monday March 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Spiedel officiating. Music will be provided by Casey Cross and Matt Roos. The Inurnment Service will be held at 5:00 PM at King of Glory Lutheran Church Columbarium Garden. 3430 N. Maple Grove Rd., Boise, ID with Pastor Connie Winter-Eulberg officiating. Dress is casual and please wear bright colors in memory of Bev.
