Beverly Jean Adkins of Plano, Texas passed away on February 21, 2022, at the age of 79. She was born on January 5, 1943, to Jack and Lillian (McCurdy) Smith in Lazbuddie, Texas. Beverly worked her entire career in telecommunications and retired a regional vice president. She loved gardening and was very involved in the Master Gardeners Association in both Texas and New Mexico. A lifelong progressive, Beverly lived her life fearlessly and willfully as a trailblazer in both her professional and personal endeavors. An avid biker and intrepid traveler, she reveled in new adventures, challenges and prided herself in always having far too many active projects and opportunities at any given time. A prolific philanthropist, she strongly believed in sharing her time, efforts and resources towards making the world a better place for everyone. She is survived by her son Marc Adkins and partner Julie Lovelady of Moore, Oklahoma, son Quinn Adkins of Madison, Wisconsin, daughter-in-law Cathy Adkins of Frisco, Texas and four grandchildren: Carl and Brigetta Adkins of Mustang, Oklahoma, Brandon and Ryan Stevens of Frisco, Texas; brother, Jack Finley Smith and wife, Shirley of Stephenville, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and beloved sister Kathy. A memorial service was held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
