Beverly Fisher, 92, Mill Creek, died 9:06 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Robin's Nest, where she had been a patient since November.
She was born May 1, 1930, in Elkhart, to the late Orrin and Wilma (Stewart) Abbott. She married Frank Fisher in Wakarusa, on January 19, 1949. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1999. Also preceding her in death were stepfather, Kenneth Kline, sisters, Joan Doering, Bonnie Lambka and grandson, Reid Fisher.
Surviving are sons, Steven (Betty) Fisher, South Bend, Richard Fisher, Wakarusa, James Fisher, Boise, Idaho, daughter, Jan Fisher, Rolling Prairie, 4 grandchildren, Kris, David, Cindy, Ashley, 4 great-grandchildren, Justin, Kody, Haley & Delany and a great-great-grandchild, Zion.
Beverly worked at Weldy's Grocery Store in Wakarusa during her teen years. She married Frank while a senior at Wakarusa High School, where she was cheerleader and class vice-president.
She then spent 24 years on the Fisher family farm near Mill Creek where she was a full-time homemaker plus maintaining a large vegetable and flower garden. Beverly also enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes and quilts.
Frank sold the farm in 1973 to pursue other business interests and they relocated to New Carlisle and then to Wakarusa in 1977.
There will be no visitation or services per Beverly's wishes.
