Surrounded by family, Beverly Mattick Figel joined our lord and savior on November 15, 2024. Born in Albany, New York in 1943, Beverly was the only daughter of Augustus Mattick and Sarah Waldenmaier Mattick. Her family of four brothers brought her love and joy. Over 60 years ago, she met and married the love of her life William Figel. They raised their four children in Albany before moving to Port Charlotte in 1987. Soon after their arrival in Florida, Bill and Beverly opened Pelican Perch RV Park in Punta Gorda where they welcomed guests from around the United States. During this time, Beverly was a Paraprofessional at the Charlotte Harbor School working with handicap children. Beverly's compassionate nature helped these students thrive as she devoted two decades to their care. Beverly's compassionate nature was joined with her spirit of adventure and creation. She relished making crafts, traveling with her family, and gambling at the slots. She leaves a legacy of kindness and unconditional love, a true child of Christ. Beverly is survived by her brother Bob Mattick, three children Will Figel (Kim Aubin), Pam Baldwin (Greg), and Deborah Hemphill (John), eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Timothy, two brothers, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery in Punta Gorda from 4:00 - 5:00 pm with the viewing and a service following. The family invites you to join them for a reception after the service to celebrate Beverly's life.
