Beverly K. "Bev " (Winter) Feldermann, 72, of Galena, IL, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at The Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at St. Michael's Church in Galena, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., with Fr. Howard C. Barch, Jr. officiating.
Bev was born on June 10, 1952 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin. She graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1970. After high school, Bev took a job working for a chiropractor in Dubuque, Iowa and continued to work for chiropractors for the next 54 years, most recently for Dr. Micaela Dolezal, Dolezal Chiropractic and Acupuncture.
She was united in marriage to Gary Feldermann on June 8, 1973 in Galena. Gary preceded her in death on August 31, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents Clarence H. and Rita R. (Pogeman) Winter, father and mother-in-law, Roy and Bernice Feldermann, and brother-in-law Ronnie Hendrickson.
Bev was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Michaels Church, the church choir, Altar and Rosary Society, and the Optimist club in Dubuque, Iowa.
Bev was happiest with her apron on; baking bread, pies, making homemade noodles, mashed potatoes, or hosting a fish fry. Her greatest passions were attending her granddaughters' sporting events and activities, watching football on her porch and playing cards. Most people knew Tuesdays were reserved for bridge playing. Bev had the gift of talking to and connecting with people. In five minutes, she would know your life history and you would feel like she was your best friend. Everything Bev did was out of love and from the heart. Bev could be counted on to generously and happily help anyone, no matter what was needed. Nothing made her happier than time spent with her family and friends.
Surviving are her two sons, Mike of Galena, IL and Luke (Shannon) of Lisbon, Iowa, granddaughters Kali, Leia and Payton. Further survived by her three sisters, Rosemary Hendrickson of Galena, IL, Patti (John) Clark of Mequon, WI and Joan Duran of Kansas City, MO, brother Donnie Winter of Scales Mound, IL., and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bev's family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt "thank you" to Dr. Dustin Deming and his staff at the UW Madison Carbone Cancer Center, Dr. Micaela Dolezal, the chaplains and nurses at Finley Hospital, especially Holly, Molly, and Meagan, her dear friend Betty Schemehorn, cousin, Peggy Stortz, and the loving support she received from family and many friends.
The Miller-Steinke Funeral Home of Scales Mound, IL is assisting the family.
