Beverly Balch went to meet her Lord surrounded by her family in her home in St. Augustine, FL on Sunday, March 6th. Beverly was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on March 5, 1939, the daughter of Louis Lamar and Daisie Snow. Following the untimely accidental death of her father when she was one, she and her family moved.to Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile and attended Mississippi Southern University. During this time Beverly met her future husband, Naval Aviation Cadet, Robert Balch. They were married in a military wedding at Trinity Episcopal in Mobile following his graduation from Naval Flight School and accepting a commission in the United States Marine Corps. They would remain together for the next 62 years, moving numerous times in support of his military career and a follow? on career with the Lockheed Martin Corporation. During the years in the military and Aerospace, Bev stayed active raising children and creating a beautiful home for her family. In many cases she did this essentially alone because of her husband's numerous deployments.
She enjoyed participating in military wife's club activities, traveling the world, selling furniture and her hobbies of Tole painting and creating wonderful professional grade framed cross stitch designs. Her ready smile, charm and outgoing personality made her a favorite in any sitting. Sheis survived by her husband, Colonel Robert M Balch
U.S. Marine Corps (ret), son Robert K. Balch and daughter Maria Reyes Casto all of St. Augustine and daughter Elizabeth Schmidt of Satsuma, Florida. Her pride and joy were eight grandchildren and four great? grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Augustine. Bev leaves behind a brother, Dr. Louis Lamar Snow of Mobile, Alabama. A funeral will beheld at a later date and her ashes will beinurned with those of her husband at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola upon his passing.
